Parma and the Colorno Palace. Piacenza and Castel'Arquato (2 days)
Day 1: GIUSEPPE VERDI NATIONAL MUSEUM – PARMA
Early morning departure for Emilia. In the morning visit to the Reggia di Colorno, a complex and monumental architectural structure, with over 400 rooms, courtyards and courtyards, embraced by the Parma stream, the square and the recently restored wonderful French garden. Visit with a local guide. Transfer to Piacenza for free lunch. In the afternoon guided tour of the central Piazza Cavalli with the two equestrian statues and the medieval Gothic Palace. Forlì, Cesena, Faenza (2 days)
1st day: FORLI ‘- BERTINORO
Departure in the morning from the chosen location. In the morning, a guided tour of the village of Bertinoro and a walk through the streets of the historic centre, located on the top of Mount Cesubeo, along the cobbled streets between historic buildings, churches, homes and the paths that line the remains of the ancient city walls. The medieval heart is identified with Palazzo Ordelaffi, Piazza Della Libertà and the Clock Tower which, in the past, served as a lighthouse for sailors. Free lunch. In the afternoon guided tour of the city of Forlì which saw Caterina Sforza undisputed lady. In the historic centre, on Piazza Saffi, there are some of the most representative buildings of the various city eras: the Romanesque basilica of San Mercuriale with the imposing original bell tower of the 12th century, the Palazzo Comunale, the seat of the Town Hall, with the Civic Tower ( or of the Clock), the fifteenth-century Palazzo del Podestà and Palazzo Albertini, and the twentieth-century Palazzo Delle Poste. Continue to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
2nd day: CESENA – FAENZA
Breakfast and transfer to Cesena. In the morning guided tour of the city. The Malatesta Lordship guaranteed it a period of notable splendour and gave the city invaluable cultural, architectural and artistic riches. Among its treasures, we find the Malatesta Library and the Malatesta Fortress, one of the most impressive in Romagna. We continue with a walk along the lively streets of the centre, from Piazza del Popolo, characterized by the Masini Fountain, a jewel of the Mannerist age, to Palazzo del Ridotto, dominated by the bronze statue of Pope Pius VI, from the Cathedral of S. Giovanni Battista, with the Chapel of the Madonna del Popolo and the Cathedral Museum, at the “Alessandro Bonci” Theater, a true neoclassical jewel. Free lunch.
In the afternoon we continue with the guided tour of Faenza, inextricably linked to the production of artistic majolica, and these artefacts characterize the city’s appearance, as the street signs, house numbers and signs of commercial activities are made of ceramic. This tour includes an in-depth visit of the famous MIC – International Museum of Ceramics. In its rooms, the culture of ceramics in the five continents through the centuries is documented: from Classical Greece to Islamic and pre-Columbian ceramics, from the Italian Renaissance to masterpieces by contemporary artists such as Picasso, Chagall and Matisse. We then continue with the walk through the adjacent Piazza del Popolo and Della Libertà, considered one of the most beautiful city areas in Italy, admiring the exterior of the Palazzi del Podestà and Capitano del Popolo, with their characteristic facades with a fifteenth-century loggia, and the Cathedral which, built in the 15th century on a project by Giuliano da Maiano, has typical forms of the Florentine Renaissance. Early morning departure from the chosen location for Ravenna, capital of the Western Roman Empire and cradle of Byzantine culture in Italy, Ravenna is the “city of mosaics” in the basilica of San Vitale, in the mausoleum of Galla Placidia, in the Baptistery Neoniano and in the church of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo. The exceptional historical role of Ravenna still stands out in the Mausoleum of Theodoric. The tomb of Dante, in the basilica of San Francesco, the first burial of the poet, exiled in Ravenna from 1317 to 1321, refers to the medieval age. Outside the city, along the Romea road, heading south, stands the isolated basilica of Sant ‘ Apollinare in Classe, to mark the site of the ancient Roman port. Breakfast and transfer to Cervia to visit the Salina, recognized as a wetland of international importance and a Natural Reserve of the State of the animal population. In fact, there are almost one hundred species of birds that find, even in such an extreme environment, the best conditions for feeding, nesting and resting. The most frequent are the waders, small waders such as the Avocetta and the Cavaliere d’Italia, but there are also ardeids, such as the Little Egret, the Great White Heron and the Gray Heron, and anatids including the Mallard, the Shoveler and Shelduck. For some years, several hundred flamingos have also been regular guests. The high concentration of salt that characterizes this place has also made it possible for the development of halophilous plant species – salt lovers – such as glasswort. The long Union bridge connects it to the beaches of Sottomarina, a very popular seaside offshoot in the summer. At the end, we will take a panoramic excursion by boat from where you can admire the three historical canals of Chioggia, Sottomarina and the docks, the San Felice Fortress, the port mouth and the works of Mose, the Oasis of Cà Roman and the ‘Ottagono di Ca’ Roman, the mussel farms, the scales and the fishermen’s huts, the grain ship, the commercial port and the Madonna Dei Pescatori or Stella Maris.

Ravenna, the Malatesta Temple, The Art of Ceramics (3 days)
Day 1: MALATESTIAN TEMPLE and ARCH OF AUGUSTUS
Departure early in the morning for Rimini. Free lunch. Arrival in Rimini and guided tour of the city. The classic itinerary of the historic center starts from the Roman Arena. The remains of this amphitheater are the latest evidence of the grandiose gladiator shows that cheered Rimini in the third century. Confirming the importance of Rimini at the time of imperial Rome, we then continue with the Arch of Augustus, the monumental gateway to the Roman city of the 1st century BC. Walking along Corso d’Augusto, an ancient decumanus, you reach Piazza Tre Martiri, an ancient Roman forum transformed for centuries into the lively “square of herbs” surrounded by arcaded shops and the graceful sixteenth-century temple of Bramante lines dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua.
